Wash care instructions can be found inside the garment itself. Please read carefully before washing. We advise items are rinsed before first-time wear as fabrics may not be completely colorfast. Due to the delicate nature of our fabrics and to ensure your Hot Lava’s beach & resortwear remains in perfect condition, please follow the care guidelines to ensure longevity:

Rayon Voile

• Hand wash with a very mild detergent (without bleach).
• Do not tumble dry.
• Lay flat to dry, away from strong sunlight.
• Sunblock, lotions, oils, and chlorine can cause discoloration – this is not a manufacturing defect.

Rayon Crinkle

• Hand wash with a very mild detergent (without bleach) and water that is no warmer than 30 degrees.
• When crinkle gets wet, the fabric feels stiff. This will then be 50% less strong. It is, therefore, important that you do not rub or scrub too hard because the fabric can easily be damaged in that way.
• Gently squeeze the crinkle clothing through soaky water and then rinse.
• Lay flat to dry (it will shrink less), away from strong sunlight.
• If you let your item line-dry in the open air, you must, of course, make sure that you do not hang the garment in direct sunlight. Crinkle is sensitive to direct sunlight.
• Never wring out your garment because it will damage the sensitive crinkle fabric. It’s best to roll the item in a towel to get the water out.
• The fabric may have shrunk after washing; this is normal. With ironing or steaming, you can stretch the fabric back to its original shape.
• Do not set the temperature of the iron too high.
• Iron your clothing on the inside.
• You can always place a tea towel between the iron and the clothing to protect the fabric.
• It is even possible to iron/steam the item up to 1 size larger (if wanted). After spraying with water or washing the item, it will automatically jump back into its original size.
• Knit or crochet garments must be stored folded and not hung.

Accessories:

• Use a damp soft cloth/sponge, nothing with a rough surface that could cause abrasions.
• Wash grubby areas only with a very mild detergent.
